Engaging Hearts to Enrich Lives through Mentoring
Make a Lasting Impact on Your Community
Kettle Kinship’s volunteers significantly impact the youth of Pine County. Mentoring is a proven, powerful strategy to help youth face many issues & barriers. A 2007 University of Minnesota study shows these results for mentored youth:
-Improved school attendance & performance
-Reduced truancy, high school drop-outs, & juvenile crime (both violence and property crimes)
-Improved health outcomes—reduced teen pregnancy and reduced use of tobacco, alcohol, drugs
Our dedicated volunteers enrich young lives every day. Create a tradition of community service in your family. The satisfaction, bonding, and personal growth that you experience are yours to keep!
The Time Commitment Is up to You
Whether you contribute your time to a single event or commit to ongoing programs, sharing your time, talents, skills, and efforts strengthens your community and inspires others to do the same.
You can join us to make a lasting IMPACT on Pine County’s youth & your community! We have a variety of opportunities, something for everyone!
Mentors
By definition ‘mentor’ means “a wise and trusted friend and guide.” Mentors are the heart & soul of Kettle Kinship’s mentoring programs as they are directly involved with local youth. Mentors can be an individual adult, couple or family, and can choose to meet with a young person weekly, monthly, or as it fits their schedule. We offer academic/tutoring, social/community-based, and skill-based mentoring opportunities.
Mentoring is one of the most significant ways you can make a positive impact in a child’s life. No special skills are needed, just a caring heart and willingness to share your time with a young person who may need you.
